Luke McMillin is being recognized with a 2022 Impact Award in Desert Racing for his win at the 2021 SCORE Baja 1000 with ORMHOF inductee Rob MacCachren and his win at the 2022 SCORE San Felipe 250. Luke is leading the 2022 SCORE Trophy Truck standings going into the final race of the season, the 2022 SCORE Baja 1000, where he and Rob MacCachren will go for back-to-back wins and a 2022 Championship for Luke.
Luke told ORMHOF, "I've loved off-road racing my whole life and my goal is to win as many Baja 1000 overalls as possible in my lifetime."
2020-21 Archive:
We have been on the podium at every race we have entered in the last 2 years including wins at the 2020 Mint 400, 2020 Silver State 300, and 2020 Baja 1000. We also won the SCORE Trophy Truck Championship.
I've been involved in off-road racing my entire life with the main goal of winning the Baja 1000 overall and now the I've done that once, I want to do it again. We have a great race team and we want to continue making the program dominant.
2019 Archives: Luke won the inaugural King of the Hammers truck race, the Desert Invitational. The course was brutal, with only eight of the 25 competitors finishing the 280-mile course. Luke has been around off-road racing his entire life. Having mentors like his father Mark, a five-time overall winner of the Baja 1000, and his grandfather Corky, has given Luke great insight at only 26 years of age. He began racing in the 1600 buggy class, where he earned back-to-back SCORE 1600 Class Championships, winning both the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 along the way. In 2012 he moved to Class 1, where he won the 500, the 1000, and the San Felipe 250. Luke moved to the unlimited truck class in 2014 and has had multiple podium finishes. Look for Luke to be on top of the podium often as he continues to be a rising force in the off-road world.
