The last year has been busy for me, a lot of investments, training, and racing. Let's start the year off with Dakar. Long story short, after a few long days in Saudi we had the success of becoming a two-time Dakar rally winner. Fast forward to a USA-based race, The Mint 400, where I was asked to team up with JCR Honda teammate, Preston Campbell in the Open Pro Class, which we won. Then I thought to myself... If I'm going there (to The Mint 400) let's sign up and race my Honda Talon in the Pro NA class, which led me to think that I needed a teammate so I would not have to be in the car for ten hours, because the next day after the SxS race was the bike race. So my Monster Energy rally teammate Skyler Howes and I teamed in the Raceco Honda Talon and won the SxS race.
Fast forward to my second rally of the year, the Ruta 40. After taking time off -- it's been since January that I have ridden rally -- Now we're in South America at the beginning of June for the Ruta 40. I was excited to race and had a ton of fun. We won the Ruta 40 and that put me back in the championship for World Rally Raid Championship.
While juggling the racing and training, Sara (Price) and I have been building on our property along the Colorado River, which started as a four-acre rectangle covered in bushes and trees, so basically, I'm a racer full-time and contractor part-time!
Off-Road to me is a place to escape the real world to get away and recharge. It's home to me and that's where I feel most free.
My plans for the near future are to go back to Dakar in hopes of another top-step finish with Monster Energy Honda. But the future is also what I'm most scared of because we've come this far not only to quit but to keep going, the future doesn't show us a sign until we're there, only hard work will tell. So what the future really has in store for me is going to be a lot of work and hopefully one day I can compete in a 4-wheel category because I have goals there as well. Now that we have a functioning shop I would really like to also incorporate/welcome people to our race shop for events -- Off-road, rally training, manufacturers, testing, and to help the industry be bigger and better.
I would like to thank HRC Honda Racing Corporation, JCR Johnny Campbell Racing, Monster Energy, Method Race Wheels, Raceco USA, Alpinestars, my friends and family, and my girlfriend Sara Price.

ORMHOF is proud to honor Ricky Brabec for winning the 2020 Dakar Rally, a 12 stage 5,600 mile trek across the sands of Saudi Arabia. Ricky also had success in the US in 2020, including the Vegas to Reno Open Pro title, his third victory in the longest off-road race in the United States.
Ricky has also earned victories in the deserts of Mexico, winning his third straight Sonora Rally in 2021. "The Sonora Rally was five days, five roadbooks. It was a long week," said Brabec. "It definitely felt longer than five days. But we made it to the end, no injuries and we made it to the top of the box."
2017 Archive: Ricky Brabec has wanted to ride motorcycles since as far back as he can remember. “I always raced BMX and jumped bicycles, and had a dirt bike around,” says Ricky, ‘I was introduced to desert racing in 2007 and immediately became addicted and knew I wanted to succeed in it.” And succeed he has. Ricky has won the SCORE Baja 1000, National Hair and Hound Assn (NHHA) Championship, and the Best in the Desert Championship. He signed up for his first Dakar Rally at just 24 years of age, and finished in the Top 10 overall. In 2015 Ricky suffered a race injury, breaking his neck. He came back stronger than ever, and has won another NHHA Championship, the Donors Rally, and Vegas to Reno.
