2026, Industry

I’m an entrepreneur, innovator, three-time Emmy-nominated cinematographer, and lifelong motorsports enthusiast with a passion for pushing the limits of cinematography, technology, engineering, and performance. My career has taken me across off-road racing, aviation, broadcast technology, and high-end cinematography. I’ve always taken a hands-on approach—if there’s a problem to solve, something new to create, or a better way to do it, I want to be involved.Through companies including DriveMedia Inc., Terrible’s Inc., 1Nine Industries, and TT Aerospace, I’ve had the opportunity to help create some of the most recognized viral motorsports projects in the world, including the Recoil series with BJ Baldwin and the Gymkhana series with Ken Block, projects that have collectively generated more than a billion views. Beyond filmmaking, we’ve developed advanced connectivity, power, and live broadcast systems built to perform in some of the most demanding environments in motorsports and aviation.I’ve never been interested in doing something simply because “that’s the way it’s always been done.” I believe in building it better, testing it harder, constantly pushing forward, and finding ways to take everything we do to the next level. I thrive in challenging environments where innovation, creativity, and execution matter. At the end of the day, I believe success comes from hard work, surrounding yourself with great people, never settling for average, and creating your own luck.

Over the past 12 months, my involvement in off-road racing has continued to grow both on and off the racecourse. Through Terrible Herbst Motorsports and 1Nine Industries, I’ve been heavily involved in the development, preparation, testing, and racing of our Trophy Truck program while continuing to expand 1Nine’s presence in the industry. We’ve now built more than 40 race trucks, with another 20 on the books, and continue to push the development of chassis, suspension, electronics, power systems, and overall vehicle performance. One of my biggest focuses has been bringing new technology into off-road racing. We’ve developed our own live video, data, connectivity, and automated power systems that allow us to transmit from race vehicles in some of the most remote and demanding environments in the world. We’ve continued improving how fans can experience off-road racing live while giving teams access to technology and data that simply weren’t possible before. For me, the biggest achievement has been combining my backgrounds in motorsports, cinematography, engineering, and broadcast technology to help push the sport forward not just by racing, but by creating new ways to build, connect, and tell the story of off-road racing.

None of what I’ve accomplished would mean nearly as much without my family beside me. They’ve supported the long days, late nights, time away, crazy ideas, and the constant drive to keep pushing forward. They’ve made sacrifices right alongside me, and I couldn’t do what I do without their support. I also really need to thank my business partners at Drive Media. We’ve accomplished incredible things together this year, and it's been the best year we’ve ever had. That doesn’t happen without an amazing team, tremendous hard work, and people who believe in what we’re building. More than anything, I’m thankful that they continue to support me while I chase all of these crazy ventures and ideas. They’ve given me the freedom to think outside the box, take risks, and pursue opportunities that sometimes probably sound completely insane at first. Through all of it, they’ve always had my back. Then there’s the Herbst family. What originally started with me coming in to build their helicopter camera system and help with some filming quickly turned into something much bigger. Troy would start asking me if I could help solve random problems here and there, and eventually it became, “You might as well just come work here.” Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to do some pretty amazing things together. The Herbst family genuinely loves off-road racing, and they’ve given me an incredible amount of freedom to push boundaries, try new ideas, and even push them into areas they had never explored before. Most of the time, I’m pretty convinced they think I’m insane and they’re probably not wrong, but they’ve continued to trust me and give me the opportunity to create and innovate. I’m beyond grateful to the entire Herbst family because I know opportunities like this don’t come around very often. From the beginning, it’s been my mission to take that opportunity and make the most of it to build something different, push what’s possible, and set ourselves apart from everyone else, just as the Herbst family has done with their other companies for generations. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but I’m even more excited about what we’re building for the future.

Off-road racing has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. To me, it’s much more than racing; it’s the people, the families, the competition, the long nights in the shop, and the challenge of pushing yourself and your equipment beyond what you thought was possible. Some of my best memories, friendships, and opportunities have come from this sport. Off-road has taught me that nothing is given to you. You have to work for it, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and find a way to keep moving forward. For the future, I want to continue pushing off-road racing forward through innovation, technology, and storytelling. Whether it’s building better race vehicles, developing new live broadcast and connectivity technology, or finding new ways to bring fans closer to the action, I want to help grow the sport and leave it better than I found it. Most importantly, I want to continue doing it alongside my family, friends, and the incredible people who make the off-road community what it is. There’s still a lot more to build, a lot more to accomplish, and a lot more racing ahead.
