Rachelle & Clay Croft
2026, Adventure
Founded in 2010 by Clay and Rachelle Croft, XOVERLAND was born from a shared family passion for adventure and exploration. Raising their three sons along the way, the Crofts built a life and business around seeing the world, telling its stories, and inspiring others to do the same. What began as a small project documenting an overland journey has grown into an award-winning global production company and one of the most recognized names in the overlanding community. Together, they have led expeditions across more than 50 countries and six continents, completing iconic journeys including the Pan-American Highway, Australia’s Simpson Desert, Russia’s Road of Bones, and expeditions throughout Africa, Scandinavia, Iceland, Alaska, and other remote regions around the world.Clay has established himself as a respected expedition leader, filmmaker, vehicle builder, and overland innovator, including serving on the team for Expeditions 7’s historic crossing of the Greenland Ice Sheet and completing a 25,000-mile overland journey around the globe with XOVERLAND.
Rachelle is an accomplished off-road driver, rally competitor, producer, and business leader who has competed three times in Morocco’s Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles and made history at the 2019 Rebelle Rally with navigator Taylor Pawley, winning the overall 4x4 class and Bone Stock Award in a completely stock Lexus GX 460, the first Lexus to win the 4x4 class.XOVERLAND’s documentary productions have earned numerous international film awards and have reached a global audience through distribution on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. In 2024, the Crofts expanded XOVERLAND’s physical presence by creating XOVERLAND Ranch, a 500-acre destination near Bozeman, Montana, designed to bring the overland and business communities together through corporate retreats, industry gatherings, events, training, adventure, and shared experiences. In 2025, XOVERLAND took another significant step forward by acquiring Overland Journal and Expedition Portal, bringing XOVERLAND, Overland Journal, Expedition Portal, and XOVERLAND Ranch together under one roof to form the Overland Collective. Today, the Crofts are building an integrated ecosystem spanning film and media, journalism, community, events, and real-world adventure, with a shared mission to inspire people to explore farther, embrace adventure, and discover what is possible when they simply start somewhere.
Over the past 12 months, Clay and Rachelle completed an extraordinary year of global overland travel and filmmaking. Clay led a 25,000-mile journey from Bozeman, Montana, north to Canada’s easternmost point, then across the Atlantic to Scotland and through Scandinavia, including Nordkapp, before traveling south along the entire West Coast of Africa to Cape Town, South Africa. Rachelle joined portions of the journey, traveling from Scotland through Lofoten and Nordkapp before continuing south to Germany, and then competed in the 10th Anniversary Rebelle Rally in a 2025 Toyota 4Runner Trailhunter. The year culminated with Clay and Rachelle returning to Cape Town with their three sons and continuing north through Southern and East Africa to Nairobi, Kenya, where they filmed the next season of XOVERLAND.
Off-road to me is all about curiosity, self-reliance, challenge, and the freedom to explore. Some of the most meaningful experiences of my life have come from traveling into unfamiliar places, solving problems along the way, and sharing those experiences with my family and people around the world.
We wouldn't be where we are today without Toyota, Mobil 1, General Tire, CBI Offroad, Fjall Raven, Goose Gear, Rigid Industries, Maxtrax, Alu-Cab, Redarc, Bowen Customs, and Equipt Expedition Outfitters.I want to continue pushing the boundaries of where we can go and what we can create through XOVERLAND, while bringing more people into the experience. I want to keep exploring the world with my family, compete when the right opportunities come along, and create stories and experiences that inspire others to step outside their comfort zone and start their own adventures. I hope to use what we have built through XOVERLAND and the Overland Collective to make exploration more accessible, meaningful, and connected to community. Off-road to me is all about curiosity, self-reliance, challenge, and the freedom to explore. Some of the most meaningful experiences of my life have come from traveling into unfamiliar places, solving problems along the way, and sharing those experiences with my family and people around the world. It's always been about the journey, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. - Rachelle Croft
