Ruben Elizalde, born and raised in Ensenada is a passionate life long race fan. He learned proficient English from cartoons on TV. Ruben worked at a local hotel for 20 years and was a favorite among racers, he went over and above to assists every major team that stay at Hotel Coral (Collins, Arciero Miller, Lucky Sperm, Herbst ). Ruben’s passion for the sport was proven with his concern for safety of all the teams and spectators, as a self-taught artist, he started making cartoons/comic books about racing while he was working at the hotel. Ruben started designing coloring books that taught kids important safety lessons at the races. (Don’t stand outside of corners, no booby traps or tampering with course markers, picking up trash, putting out fires, not interfering with weatherman, not drinking, and not taking selfies).  Ruben was producing these books and distributing them to children on his own time and his own money. Teams started donating to this project, and it because busy enough t that Ruben stopped working at the hotel to follow this passion project. A small markup on the books is enough to replace Ruben’s 50hr work week at the hotel, and allow him to travel to schools all over Baja teaching and promoting safe spectating.
