Tierra Del Sol 4WD Club of San Diego to Receive ORMHOF 2024 Bob Ham Land Use Donation
Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club of San Diego has been selected to receive the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame 2024 Land Use Donation.
Each year the Hall of Fame sets aside a percentage of funds received to contribute back to the off-road community in the form of a land use donation, in honor of land use advocate and ORMHOF inductee Bob Ham. The donation is awarded to a group, club, or organization that represents the off-road community in a positive light through land use advocacy, trail cleanups, and events.
The presentation to Tierra Del Sol will take place at Off-Road's Biggest Night of the Year, the ORMHOF Induction & Awards Gala, on Sunday, November 3 at the South Point in Las Vegas.
Tickets to the Gala are sold out but there is a waiting list. The Gala will also be streamed live from Las Vegas. The ORMHOF Walk of Fame presented by Toyota and Silent Auction presented by SCORE International with host Charlene Bower will be live from 5 to 7 pm on the ORMHOF Facebook page. Facebook Live is presented by Ultra Wheel. The Induction & Awards Ceremony from 7 to 10 pm will stream live on the ORMHOF YouTube channel, presented by PCI Race Radios. Both live events will be available for replay. Gala attendees and online viewers can also register to bid on items in ORMHOF's popular online auction. See the Quick Links at the bottom of this article for links to the Gala Ticket waiting list, auction details, Facebook, and YouTube.
Tierra Del Sol was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1962. The club has received Heritage Club designation with the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame, for more than fifty years of history in the off-road community.

Children have always been part of TDS family activities, and some of those former youngsters are now sharing the outdoor experience with their offspring. That says a great deal about the cohesiveness and quality of the club, when the leadership is extended into a second and third generation of the club’s members. -- Tierra Del Sol website.
Tierra Del Sol club members volunteer at the club's major fundraiser, the Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club Desert Safari, an off-road event held in southern California that will celebrate 62 years in 2025.

In addition to volunteering at Desert Safari, club members also participate in cleanup events, often partnering with other off-road organizations, with the goal to help keep public lands open to the public by representing the off-road community in a positive light.

Tierra Del Sol partners with other clubs and organizations to have a positive impact in the off-road community. Members donate their time, energy, and resources to make a difference.

Tierra Del Sol supports other organizations financially as well, including Friends of Oceano Dunes and Blue Ribbon Coalition, recognizing that the fight to keep public lands open requires a united front from the off-road community.

Previous recipients of the Bob Ham Land Use Donation from the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame include Clean-Dezert, Southern Four Wheel Drive Association, American Sand Association, Tread Lightly!, Red Rock 4 Wheelers, Friends of Oceano Dunes, CORVA, San Diego Off-Road Coalition, and Blue Ribbon Coalition, with donations totaling $38,750.00.

The ORMHOF Land Use Award is named in honor of Class of 2006 inductee Bob Ham. The Hall of Fame Louis Unser Never Give Up Award was presented to Bob in 2021, for his many years of unwavering dedication to land use advocacy in California, as a founding member of CORVA, and as a lobbyist and policy consultant at the state level in California. About the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame
The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame was established in 1978 by racing promoter and NORRA founder Ed Pearlman to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations whose lifelong contributions to off-road motorsports have set a standard for others to follow. In 1995, legendary off-road racer Rod Hall became ORMHOF chairman, a position he held for more than twenty years, before selecting current chairman Mark McMillin as his successor.
The mission of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is to educate and inspire present and future generations of the off-road community by celebrating the achievements of those who came before. Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductees represent excellence and achievement in many areas of off-road, including advocacy, journalism, industry, rock sports, desert racing, short course, and rally.
ORMHOF maintains a collection of vintage off-road vehicles that are displayed at museums around the country, as well as an extensive online archive of print, images, audio, and videos, with more content added as funds become available. The Hall of Fame Off-Road Registry invites clubs, organizations, events, businesses, and individuals with fifty years or more of history in off-road to apply for Hall of Fame heritage status in the official archives of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.

The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is funded through donations, individual memberships, and industry partners. A 501c non-profit organization, ORMHOF has earned a GuideStar Non-Profit Gold Seal of Transparency for 2024.
ORMHOF is guided by an all-volunteer board of leaders in the off-road community, including chairman Mark McMillin and board members Frank ‘Butch’ Arciero Jr, Jim Bramham, Frank DeAngelo, Bud Feldkamp, Jeff Furrier, Josh Hall, Bob Ham, Gary Haugley, Nate Hunt, Rich Klein, Emily Miller, Rafael Navarro III, Fardad Niknam, Bonnie Vessels, and Rory Ward.
We invite you to browse the ORMHOF online collections of print, images, audio, and video, and to learn more about how to join, partner, or donate. It's all online at ormhof.org.
