Andrew Comrie-Picard
2024, Adventure
His name is Andrew Comrie-Picard, but everyone knows him as ACP.
ACP grew up on a farm in Alberta, rolled his first truck at age 11, and has pretty much been doing the same thing ever since. For 25 years he has competed in pro rally racing, winning the North American Rally Championship overall with Mitsubishi in 2009 and a bronze medal at the X Games in 2010. He won the John Woodner Cup in 2014 driving for Ford. He was one of four competitors at all of the first five X Games with rally cars, with Travis Pastrana, Ken Block, and Tanner Foust. He’s also competed in Pro Drifting for Dodge in a Viper, four times at Pikes Peak, and four times in the Baja1000 with BFGoodrich.
He has hosted TV shows about cars on Discovery Channel (Ultimate Car Buildoff, Car Saviors), SPEED (Battlecross), and produced, designed, and driven stunts on Netflix (Hyperdrive) and History (Top Gear USA). He’s designed and driven stunts in feature films including in the Fast and Furious and Deadpool franchises, and continues to drive and stunt coordinate for commercials, TV, and feature films. In business, he is the Chief Business Officer of Arctic Trucks North America and founded ZipTire Mobile Tire in Los Angeles. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters, and likes cereal.
For many years ACP has worked to build and execute the hardest expedition possible with wheeled vehicles, crossing both geographic poles in a continuous surface expedition. In April 2024 after months of navigating broken Arctic ice in 24-hour sunlight, the Transglobal Car Expedition achieved the North Pole with handmade amphibious vehicles. In early 2025 they expect to be on the South Pole. The expedition is connected by 30,000 miles of continuous overlanding through Europe, Africa, and South and Central America.
"Every one of us is in some form of off-road motoring because we love a challenge. Testing ourselves against nature and the laws of physics. And ultimately the relationships that we build here are with rare, like-minded people with passion, skill, and drive. I feel at home here." -- Andrew Comrie-Picard
For the future? ACP told ORMHOF, "I’d like to help integrate excellent human driving into the autonomous algorithms currently being developed both for road driving and for tactical off-road driving. And I’d like to compete in a SCORE Trophy Truck. There, I said it."
Just before the Transglobal Car Expedition expedition began from New York City, ACP was proud to once again be on the BFG Performance team that won the BC class at the 2023 Baja1000.
ACP would like to thank BFGoodrich and Ford.
