I was born and raised in Draper, UT. I grew up always being outdoors. Riding ATVs, fishing, camping, etc. I bought my first Jeep at the age of 15 and that’s when my love for 4wheeling started. I spent many weekends in Moab and St. George recreational wheeling. Over the years I taught myself how to build, fabricate, and customize my rigs. In 2010 I decided to try competitive rock crawling and haven’t stopped competing since. In 2015 I moved to St George to be closer to Sand Hollow which is where I spend most weekends wheeling with friends and fellow competitors.
2022 was a great year in my professional rock crawling career. I took 1st place for the WeRock Western Series in the Promod class. I was also one of the few drivers to compete in Trail Hero Trail Breaker LCQ.
After last season I decided to build a new car to move up to Trail Buggy Class to push my limits in 2023. We are on track to finish out this season with another 1st place as Western Series champion and also the National Series Title.
In June of 2023 I was 1 of 5 drivers invited to work with the BLM and Grand Mesa Jeep Club to open up a new trail called Pinch Point in Grand Junction, CO. This coming October I will also be 1 of 10 drivers invited to compete in Trail Breaker LCQ to try and get a spot in the main Trail Breaker Event during Trail Hero.
Off Road to me is a way to get outdoors and see places that not many people get to see. It doesn’t matter whether you enjoy SxS, Jeeps, buggies, or motorcycles. We all enjoy the same thing. My plans for the future are to continue with competitive rock crawling, participate in off-roading events, and help keep public lands open to the public. -- Tyler Harper
